Fact #1: At the age of 30, Clara Garner, mother to Lilie Garner stated in the 1870 census that she had a total of five children. The names of our great aunts and uncles were, Jodie (age 13), Logan J (age 11), Rosco (age 8), Mary (age 6) and Lillie (age 4).
 
Fact #2: Our  grand-father, James Thurman, was the first person to have his own cotton fields in Marengo County. He produced the first bail of cotton ever produced in Marengo County.
